As Christians, we don’t expect to be immune from mental illness. We also want to love people in the midst of it.
Our strength is knowing Jesus, and loving people by meeting them where they’re at. As we come face to face with mental illness we can do that, and be helpful, and point each other people to Jesus with compassion and some understanding of the circumstances they face.
We’ve developed a booklet to help you to think about people who have mental illness - ourselves or others - and how to love them as Christians.
This resource serves as an introduction. We’ve pulled together helpful information from organisations that specialise in treating mental illness and supporting those caring for those who have it. At the end of the booklet there are several pages of resources and contacts for further information.
If reading this booklet raises issues you’d like help with, please contact us or one of the organisations listed in the booklet.
